Every morning, one number.
Budge Bot texts you what's safe to spend today, before you spend it. Log a coffee in five seconds by replying. No app to open, no dashboard to check.
Free to use. Currently in preview.
Try it here first.
Type an expense the way you'd text it. Amount first, then what it was.
How it works
Three things happen, in order. Then it repeats every morning.
Set a monthly budget
Tell the bot what you've got to spend this month and roughly where it goes. Takes about two minutes, once.
Text what you spend
"6.20 coffee". That’s the whole interaction. It sorts the category and does the arithmetic.
Get today's number
Your remaining monthly budget divided by the days left, sent to you before you've spent anything.
Most budgeting apps wait for you to come back.
That's the part that fails. Not the tracking, the remembering.
An app you open
- You have to remember it exists
- Charts tell you what already happened
- Logging a $4 coffee costs six taps
- You stop opening it by week three
A bot that texts you
- It starts the conversation, not you
- One number, before you spend it
- Logging is a reply in a chat you're already in
- Nothing new to install or open
Pricing
Free covers most people. Premium is for heavier use and lives on two different payment rails, depending on where you chat.
Free
- Daily allowance message
- Monthly budget and categories
- Fair-use message limit
Telegram Premium
- Everything in Free
- Higher message limits
- Custom categories and reminders
WhatsApp Premium Coming soon
- Same features, on WhatsApp
- Not yet available
Telegram Premium is charged in Telegram Stars through Telegram, so the dollar figure shown is an approximate conversion and may vary. WhatsApp Premium will be charged in Australian dollars by card when it launches. Prices are indicative during preview and not yet final.
What it does with your data
No bank connection
Budge Bot never touches your bank. There's nothing to link, because you tell it what you spent.
Amounts and labels only
What's stored is the number you sent and the word next to it, so it can add them up for the month.
Delete it whenever
Send "delete my data" and it's gone, along with the budget and history behind it.
Questions
Does it connect to my bank?
No. Everything is entered by you in the chat. That's a deliberate choice, and it's why there's no bank login to hand over.
How is today's number worked out?
Your remaining monthly budget divided by the number of days left in the month. Spend less today and tomorrow’s number goes up.
Why Telegram and not WhatsApp?
Telegram allows bots to start a conversation with you, which is the whole point of a message that arrives unprompted. WhatsApp support is planned but isn’t live yet.
What are Telegram Stars?
Telegram’s own in-app currency. Premium inside Telegram is paid in Stars rather than by card, which is why the price is shown that way.
Is it finished?
No. It's in preview, which means things will change and some of it will break. Pricing isn't final either.
